Bad at Blogging & Breakfast Challenge!

I am notoriously bad at blogging.

As with everything I do, I have only the greatest of intentions for whatever blogging adventure I have set out on.  For example, my S.M.A.R.T. Today blog.  I started that blog to keep track of several personal goals I had to try to motivate myself to be healthier in mind, body and relationships.  That blog had all of one post.  The blog I started to comment on news stories and other items of interest had zero posts.  This  blog, the simplest of all – to just track my food consumption – has 3 posts.

That being said, I am starting out with a pretty easy to accomplish goal for the next “phase” of this blog.  (Not to imply that there have been any completed “phases” to begin with).  My wife just enrolled in a Health Counseling course for a school out of NYC, and one of the things she has to do is a breakfast challenge.  She has to try eating something different for breakfast every day of the week and note how it makes her feel.  This is used to gain a better understanding of what your body really wants and needs to start out the day properly.  I’ve decided to do this challenge as well as  a way of analyzing what I eat and how I feel as the day goes on.  And now, day one.

Breakfast: Glass of water with a small/med bowl of tofu scramble w/bbq tempeh and half a pita

How I felt immediately after:  I felt satisfied.  It was a good amount of food, not too much.  I had a big meal the night before so I wasn’t extremely hungry when I woke up as I often am, but was definitely hungry enough to eat.  It was nice to have something cooked as I am usually much more in a hurry during the week and resort to instant oatmeal or cold cereal.  The flavour was great.  It was asian influenced, which I love, and didn’t leave me craving anything else flavour-wise.

How I felt 2 hours later: I still feel satisfied hunger-wise.  And I feel like I have sufficient energy to head out on our big walk and up college hill to the market.  I can’t say that I won’t enjoy a nice treat there once we finally make it though!
